A register extract does not award status
An extract from Ukraine’s Unified State Register of War Veterans records information held in that register. It may be required for a particular administrative application or to support the exercise of an entitlement. Requesting an extract does not grant veteran or combatant status. Establishing that status is a separate procedure.
Confirm the document and receiving office
First ask the organisation requesting evidence which document it needs. A register extract and a veteran’s certificate serve different purposes and should not automatically be treated as interchangeable in every case. Then check that the chosen CNAP accepts the relevant request and confirm its appointment arrangements. A personal applicant needs the required identification. Where another person applies, the rules may require evidence of authority, legal representation or a qualifying family relationship.
Applying for another person’s information
Access for relatives depends on the current procedure and the circumstances. Simply holding a copy of somebody else’s certificate does not establish a right to their register data. Explain who will apply and whose information is requested when checking the documents with the office.
Reviewing the result and missing records
Review the personal details in the result. If a record is absent or information needs clarification, ask which authorised body must update the underlying entry. Repeating the same request does not replace correction of that entry. Keep the result and the instructions for the next step, particularly if you need the extract for another application with its own deadline.
