This route describes the general procedure. Some steps depend on your circumstances and may involve different authorities. Check the current requirements for each service before applying.
Start with evidence of the birth and the child’s agreed details. Choose standard registration or the yeMaliatko combined service if it is available for your circumstances.
Keep the medical conclusion number or birth document. For a birth outside a healthcare facility or abroad, ask the civil registry which evidence applies.
Check yeMaliatko availability and eligibility. Alternatively, use a civil registry office or a confirmed birth-registration CNAP; check appointments and where to collect the certificate.
Prepare the parents’ documents, agree the name and confirm how parentage will be recorded. Apply no later than one month after the birth.
Check the name, date of birth and parents’ details. Raise any error with the issuing office before using the certificate for other applications.
The general residence-registration deadline for a newborn is three months from the date of state registration of the birth. Apply for the relevant address; the other parent’s consent depends on the circumstances.
Tick the documents you have prepared. This is a general checklist: items marked “If applicable” are only needed in the relevant circumstances. Check the service requirements for the final document list. You do not need to upload documents to this website.
The “A child is born” route connects several applications. Open the relevant procedure for your next step and check where to apply; optional actions depend on your circumstances. Checklist ticks help you organise preparation and do not confirm that an institution has completed an action.
