Confirm that the repair route applies
Procedure 381 covers specified categories of damaged housing. Check the current conditions for the property, location and applicant. A destroyed home follows a different route. Disclose repairs already carried out and other assistance received; the same expense should not automatically be claimed again.
Assemble the application details
Check the property-rights record, damage-notification reference and co-owner details. Cash compensation uses an eRecovery special account rather than any ordinary bank card. Prepare evidence of representation or priority status if applicable.
Prepare for the commission’s assessment
Submitting through Diia or an administrator does not replace the commission’s checks. Provide current contact details, arrange any required inspection and retain clarification requests. Existing photographs and records of the earlier condition can help explain the circumstances. Do not enter an unsafe building to obtain additional images.
Read the decision before spending
The commission determines the work and compensation amount. Compare the decision with the damage identified and ask how to address discrepancies. A consideration period is not a promised funding date. Once funds arrive, the special-account rules and the spending and reporting periods for the relevant repair category apply.
Before paying, check the supplier or contractor in the official participant list and confirm that the particular payment can be accepted under the programme. Keep invoices, receipts and photographs of completed work. Continue with the spending and repair-report guide.
